I agree but need to add an item. The Pack-n-Play. We only used it on road trips (which are rare with an infant). For anything else it was just to much to lug around.

In 5 Secrets Hotels Don't Want You to Know
Last summer we went to DC for the 4th. When we checked in to our hotel the first evening we found out that the AC was out of order in the whole building. We immediately checked out and went to the hotel across the street. When we asked about room rates we showed concern over the nightly rate since we were staying for 5 nights. As soon as the manager heard 5 nights, he dropped the rate by $20 a night. I guess my point is that talking to the manager can help. It was also after 4PM. If you are staying for multiple nights, use that to negotiated rates as well.
