ZinniaDesigns Mom, Needham, MA General I graduated from Massachusetts College of Art in 1998, with a BFA in Ceramics, but the “real world” came calling soon after and I began working as a Marketing Manager in 1999. I was really missing my artistic endeavors and so in 2006, I decided to start getting my hands dirty in clay again. A number of my friends were having babies and so I thought of the perfect gift – personalized clay impressions of their baby's hands and feet. These gifts were a hit with the new moms and so recently, I began holding afternoon clay date parties, where I visit the host’s home and take customized impressions for them, as well as for their guests. My friends with “furry” babies didn't want to be left out of the fun, so I began taking paw impressions as well. Of course, not everybody has a little one at home, furry or otherwise, so I wanted to incorporate my love of ceramics into a wearable product that everyone could enjoy. One day I came up with an idea to make unique, artistic belt buckles by fusing metal with clay, which branched out to jewelry, and more. I am very excited about my new adventure and hope that Zinnia Designs will blossom into a full-time career someday soon!
