Probably in response to sites like mint.com, stodgy old quicken has made its online service free of charge. I was testing out mint.com, and give it props for figuring out how to access a multitude of financial institutions with nearly as many login hurdles, but I am happier trusting a company that has been around for a while with protecting highly sensitive account info. Note that the quicken service does not have stuff like bill pay either - which in my mind is a good thing.

The article promotes the divide between SAH and working parents by implying that the advantages of full-day early education are short-lived or illusory. A closer reading reveals the important takeaway, which is that the amount of time kids spend at school is less important than the quality of the time they spend at home...parents who cannot be SAH should not feel slighted by the superficial 'revelations' of the study, but inspired to make the most of the time they do have to spend with their kids. One big advantage to a longer day for working parents is more consistent quality of care and fewer transitions to manage for parent and child.
In Put All of Your Club Cards on One Card
I tried this a while back and was frustrated by the various store scanners, which refused to pick out the correct bar code from the four I had listed...maybe I should try again.

the site mentions this and now provides additional instructions to make a sleeve for the card that slides to show only the number you need. sweet.
