I use mine the same way. I also use my kitchen shears for all the same things. Both the shears and the pizza cutters are way easier to use than knives!

Cute idea, but I'm not sure if the house might start to look like the bank counter? Anyway, I solved this problem a totally different way. Instead of buying some good quality items, I went to the dollar store and bought quantity. We have about 10 pairs of scissors, hundreds of pens, 5 or 6 staplers and 5 or 6 scotch tape dispensers. Now, even when they go missing, it's easy to find another.
