I'm the proud and doting grandma (they call me TamTam)of four beautiful children. My husband and I have been married for 27 yrs and it's been a great journey. Our baby is an 80 lb. rescue dog named Chance. Named so by our son because we gave him a second chance. I work in afterschool care and have done so for about 16 yrs. In Something to Do When Waiting With Kids
We've used this one at our afterschool site often and the kids love the challenge. As a group you try to count to 10. Sound easy? The trick is for only one person to say the next number. If more than one say it at the same time then the group has to start counting all over again!
In Fears at Night
We did practically the same thing when our children (now 24 & 30 yrs) had their bedtime fears. We just added another small twist to the empowerment. I found a small spritzer bottle and filled it with diluted peppermint extract as that seemed to be their favorite scent. The nightly ritual lasted about a week and then the fears wre banished forever!
