By:BusyMom

These crabcakes are both easy and delicious!

Baltimore crab cakes Ingredients

6 ounce jumbo lump crab meat (I buy it at Costco),
1 slice white bread, crust off, finely diced
1/4 teaspoon shallots, or chives, finely diced,
1 whole egg,
1 teaspoon mayonnaise
1/4  Dijon mustard
1/4 teaspoon lemon juice
Salt and pepper to taste
2 tablespoon butter

Baltimore Crab Cakes instructions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

1) In a bowl, whisk one egg2) Gently fold in all ingredients (except butter) until combined3) Shape crab cakes into 3 ounces patties4) In a hot sauté pan, add 2 tablespoon of butter5) Lightly brown crab cakes on both sides6) Remove from sauté pan7) Using a small oven pan, bake for 5 minutes or until done

Options -

1 - For the real Baltimore style - you can add Old Bay seasoning to taste.

2 - Dried herbs are fine as a substitute

2 - You can increase the recipe depending on how much lumb crab you have.  (I get mine from Costco, so I usually double the recipe).

Haha - It's not a diced egg, it's a whole egg. The shallots/chives are diced. :)

Are you from Baltimore? I've never heard of crab cakes having diced egg in them.
