This is an old tradition in my husband's family. As they're driving up to go camping in New Hampshire, they make a little side trip to get a bag (or bucket) of fresh potato chips from the Granite State Potato Chip Company. I was suspicious when I saw the outside - it's just a rundown white building. But there's a steady amount of traffic in and out. It's definitely a word-of-mouth place.
My husband came back with a big brown bag of potato chips. You have to salt them yourself. It's worth the side trip. We had tasty fresh chips for camping... and I must say, it was one of the highlights of the trip.
