This place is a hidden gem. Schoolhouse Ice-Cream located in a small plaza in Burlington, MA is a great place to go for casual sandwiches and home made ice-cream. They are sort of hidden back so you have to look for it (it's in the plaza near the Shell gas station). Prices are extremly reasonable (get the combo which is a sandwich, drink and kiddie cup of ice-cream for only about $5.00). A kid size cup is generous and they also do b-day parties there where you can make your own sundaes, etc. We are hooked. Check them out on a Sunday evening where Cruiser Night happens every Sunday from 5-7p.m. and the parking lot is filled with cars from the past (1950's etc.) For the kids there is a clown that makes balloon animals. On a nice night, we spent a relaxing 2 hours having a nice, quick, casual bite to eat and ice-cream at SchoolHouse, got the kids their balloon animals and checked out the antique cars. A nice way to end the day on a budget.
