This is something that my mom made for me when I was little, and I still have it. She made an adorable little doll's quilt using pieces of outgrown baby & toddler clothing that she loved. It's such a cute way to remember all those cute outfits once they get too worn or perhaps have a stain or a tear somewhere.
Essentially, she cut out 2x2 or 3x3 squares of the fabric from favorite clothes I had grown out of, and pieced them together to make a small quilt that would fit in a doll cradle. (maybe 12 x 12?). She lined the back with a solid color fabric and then sewed it all together (sewing machine).
Anyway, I thought I'd share the idea since the quilt is now on my own daughter's doll cradle and it's a pretty neat keepsake. My mom was just up visiting this week and it was fun to reminisce, and have her tell the stories of the fabric and why she chose them.
