Both my toddler daughter and myself suffer from eczema from time to time, throughout the year. What I found that woks best for her is Gentle Naturals Baby Eczema Cream. Of all the things I tried (Eucerin, Aquaphor, cornstarch, Aveeno, prescription steroid cream) it is the only thing that cleared up her severe baby eczema. Now when I see a small area flare up, I put some of the Gentle Naturals on it at night and by morning it is gone. There is a $2.00 rebate available on the site as well.
As for my remedy...I swear by Shea Butter. A little goes a long way and it is the only thing that has given me any relief from my eczema. The Shea Butter I use is whipped, pure Shea Butter, that is organic and free trade. I get it from a fantastic RI company called Buttonwoods Bathworks. The only reason I don't use the Shea Butter on my daughter is she is still under the age of two and Shea Butter is derived from a nut. However my friend uses Shea Butter on her three year old and is very pleased with the results.
