With a new baby and a toddler, it is tough to find activities to keep the older child engaged while nursing the little one. It's so easy to turn to DVDs...and I do, but a healthier option I just discovered that Ava LOVES is picture books with CDs. She is too young to really follow along, but sometimes if we have gone through the book/CD with her beforehand, she comes close. She is really engaged with the music and images, and it's something she can do independently, while it's enriching her vocabulary and love of books. A favorite right now is "Mrs. Moon's Lullabies for Bedtime" with illustrations by Clare Beaton.
