Here is a list of items I used with my daughters! You will know when your baby is ready for finger foods when:

  1. they are interested in small objects
  2. uses the "pincer grasp" - picks up objects with thumb and forefinger
  3. and wants to "do things myself"
  • Baby cookies, graham crackers, teething biscuits
  • O-shaped cereal
  • Cooked pasta pieces
  • Rice cake pieces
  • Soft fruit pieces: banana, canned peaches and pears
  • Small cooked veggie pieces: carrots, potatoes, peas
  • Grated cheese and apples
