Free Friday Flicks are an annual Boston tradition featuring family-oriented movies at the Hatch Shell for free. Bring a blanket and snacks and see a fun family movie on the big screen under the stars. The movies are shown on summer Friday nights at dusk. It looks like this year they start on Friday, June 22 and they run every Friday through August 24.
Film titles are only announced one day prior to being shown. You can call the WBZ Free Friday Flicks Hotline on Thursday for weekly movie information: (617) 787-7200.
For parking, the city of Boston usually closes the right lane of Storrow Drive next to the Hatch Shell on days when there are concerts and movies. (But don't quote me on that!) Parts of Beacon Hill have sporadic spots, but very few for non-residents. Charles Street has limited parking but fills up quickly - especially on Friday nights. Your best bet is to take public transportation.
