This has long been an urban legend, and often it's been said to be false, but now Channel 4 News in Boston is reporting that some lipstick has dangerously high levels of lead. L'Oreal and Cover Girl and other popular brands are named. Read the story to see if your favorite color is safe.

First, kids dying from lead in toys. Now, they find high levels of lead in lipsticks. What’s next - lead in food? Are women going to start dying now too from using lipstick too much? Freaky! Unfortunately, one of the major concerns that the corporations have is meeting their bottom line, or in other words, making profit - lots and lots of it, even if it means sacrificing people’s health and well being. Unknowingly or knowingly, willingly or unwillingly, corporations continue to make all kinds of unsafe products for us to use and consume, and even containing substances that can seriously affect our health and well being. There’s a detailed report about the lead in lipstick that you can take a look at: http://www.myproductalert.com/lead-in-lipsticks.html
