Neighborhood Pumpkin Patch
Ages:
Baby, Toddler, Preschool, K-5th Grade
By:Kristen H.

Because everyone may not celebrate Halloween, here's an idea to celebrate autumn in your neighborhood...have every child bring a pumpkin and place them in the neighborhood "pumpkin patch" (someone's backyard, etc.).  You can have a child make a sign that says "Pick A Pumpkin" or "_____ Street Pumpkin Patch."  You can serve hot apple cider, and have other neighbors bring apples for "Bob for Apples" and other fallish treats!  You can set up a pumpkin rolling race or play "Guess How Many Candy Corn in the Jar."  This Pumpkin Festival could also be used in school for an alternative as most schools do not allow celebrations related to Halloween.
