Over the summer, we created a new guide: The Media and Young Children Action Guide. It is a major revision of our old longstanding Media Violence and Children Action Guide. When we created the old guide at least 10 years ago, media violence was our biggest concern. We have now expanded the focus of the old guide because we feel the media in children’s lives that adults need to understand and deal with has gotten so much broader than just violence issues.

While much of the guide is for parents, we have expanded on the section for teachers. The new guide is now on the TRUCE website. To get the new guide, visit http://www.truceteachers.org/mediaviolence.html. We hope you find it helpful in your work with children and hope you will copy and disseminate it to other parents and teachers and direct them to our website.

Remember, it’s not copyrighted so you can use it in whatever way makes sense.
