Doctors recommend examining your breasts monthly for lumps or signs of breast cancer. It's a good idea to check your breasts a week after your period starts, when they are less likely to be tender and swollen (get a demonstration at breastcancer.org.) Also, a new tool on the prevention market is a wonderful item called: The In Touch Breast Self-Exam Glove. The glove is designed to help decrease friction between your fingers and skin to better feel any abnormalities. Bath and Body Works sells this item and donates a portion of the proceeds to the American Breast Cancer Foundation.
