Hokusai Restaurant is Japanese cuisine with a French flair.  They have the freshest fish in Los Angeles, and are one of the only restaurants that serves Blue Fin Tuna.  This is caught in Japan and flown to L.A. and they use a GPS system to make sure it is on the table within 12 hours of being caught.  Try the Squid Pasta with shitake mushrooms.  They also have some varieties of Sake that are only available in Japan.... try a flight of sake- two ounce tastes of three different kinds.  This is a special occasion destination.  Not extremely expensive, but extremely special.
