This site, Babynamewizard.com, allows you to see how popular a given name was through recent history. Just click on NameVoyager. It requires Java to work.  I could really waste...er... spend hours on this.  For instance, if you type in "Stella", you can see that it was hugely popular last century (come on - everyone has an Aunt Stella) and then dropped off.  But it might be making a small comeback.
