Take Out Menu Binder

This is so obvious, you'd think we'd all have one already, but since I didn't have one until recently, I guess some of you don't either! I'm talking about a take-out menu binder. I've seen beautiful take-out menu binders and storage boxes of all types in catalogues, but they are all over $20, so I never bought one. I finally just took a plain inexpensive 3 ring binder, asked my daughter to decorate it with Sharpies, and put in one of those 3 hole punches that are made for carrying in your binder. Now, any take out menu we bring home just goes in the binder. We are going to try to keep them organized by category, and maybe you can, but we probably won't be able to pull that off! I keep it with my cookbooks so we always know where to find it.

I found that the hole punch isn't great for some menus so we use sheet protectors to put the menus in (the 3 ring, clear, plastic "envelopes" that are meant to have pages slide into). This also makes it so that all of the menus are on pages of the same size so it's a bit easier to find those narrow menus that tend to hide among the others. I do the same thing with my home-made cookbook with all the recipes I've collected over the years. Even if the page is a full size sheet, I put it in a sheet protector. Then I just take a page out of the book when I'm making that recipe and, if something spills, I just wipe off the sheet protector and all's well.
