It is very easy to say statements that promote jealousy of a new baby in the house.  One of the statements commonly said that helps create jealousy is to say "not now dear,  mom has to take care of the baby."  Instead,  try saying,  "Mom's hands are busy right now,  I will be there as soon as I can."  You can also try saying, "Mom only has two hands (pause), and they are busy."  This does not involve the baby and children will not automatically correlate you being busy to the baby taking your time away from them.
