On the heels of HBragdon's tip, I thought I'd add my own favorites: - Mr. Willowby's Christmas Tree, by Robert Barry: My husband had his copy of this book from when he was a child, and I was surprised to see it's still in print, but glad because it's a great story. There's a lovely rhythm to the lines as you follow this tree and how it keeps moving from family to family, from humans to animals, and a nice message about sharing (and recycling, although I'm sure that wasn't the intention).
- Merry Christmas, Curious George, by H.A. and Margret Rey and Cathy Hapka; This is a new book that was illustrated "in the style of" the original, and I liked it because it does look and read like a typical Curious George story. He follows a Christmas tree to a children's hospital ward where typical hyjinks ensue.
- What Star is This? by Joseph Slate: Nice trip though the galaxy with the star that travels to Jesus's birth; illustrations are great even in paperback form.
