Did you know the #1 killer of teens is car-related? If you know a teenager save their life and sign them up for this incredibly valuable class. This training reduces the likelihood of car accidents by 70%. My friend told me about this organization when I was hiring our 21 yr old Nanny and I said I was nervous to have her drive with the kids. I decided to take the class with her and I am so thankful I did. Many parents there took the class with their kids and everyone kept saying how amazed they were at how much they were learning and how much fun it was. It was the best money I've ever spent. I'm sure people are reading this thinking, "I've been driving for years, I don't need any training" and that's what I thought too, but I feel my kids (and I) are safer with me behind the wheel now that I have this training and that it was worth the $ and the 4 hrs I spent with this great organization. By the way, your hands should NOT be at 10 and 2. Locations: N. Andover, Weymouth, Worcester, and the Cape. Price $299. Sign up for their newsletter at  http://www.incontroladt.com/ and there are discounts offered at times. One more thing, I saved 5% on my car insurance b/c I took this course too. They even offer a snow class!

My personal experience: I have been driving for 20 years and had no idea I could control my car and avoid life-threatening accidents the way this class showed me. I was shocked from the moment the certified race car instructor took us through our first drill at a former air force base....going 60 mph in a few seconds heading towards a red traffic cone and not braking until 5 ft from the cone and we did not hit the cone! Each person did this drill and learned how to effectively use our brakes. It was intense. We did many more drills to learn skills for hazardous conditions, the dangers of distractions (like texting and cell phone use among many others) and tailgating, how to make an emergency lane change, and what I found amazing is learning how SUV drivers can learn how NOT to roll over their car when faced with a quick decision. Each part of this class was done with every safety measure. I am so blown away with this class and their instruction I had to share.

I was just talking to my husband about wanting to take a driving class, just to learn how to handle dangerous driving situations. He has taken one and thought it was helpful, but his class cost around $800, which his company paid for. So I'm glad to hear that there's a class that's more reasonable - thanks for the tip.
