General Interest

The New York Times online carries a large and interesting series of blogs. I’m not much of a blog-reader myself, but I have found lots of interesting bits on some of them. I guess the advantage to reading blogs is that you are getting up to the minute information on things relating to your personal interests. These are the family-oriented blogs that readers might find interesting:

  • Relative Choices - an opinion blog where adoptive parents, adoptees, and others discuss adoption and the American family. This blog has been getting a lot of attention on the adoption boards and blogs, positive and negative. (I’ll keep my own opinion on it to myself.)
And here are a few more of general interest:
  • Pogue’s Posts - by technology columnist David Pogue, who manages to make modern technology a funny and interesting topic.
  • Freakonomics - by Steven Levitt and Stephen Dubner, who wrote the book of the same name, about the hidden side of everything. Freakonomics was one of my favorite books of the last few years.
  • TV Decoder - guide to TV and what’s on and who’s watching. Good way to keep up on the writers’ strike.
  • Travel Q&A - New York Times travel staff answers all questions about travel.
