If you're looking for a new restaurant where you can take the kids, try Stone Hearth Pizza in Needham. It is in the old Button Box location and boy does it look different inside! They have unusual salads and pizza combinations for the adults and a 3 item kids menu for the small ones. (Chesese & Pepperoni Pizza and hamburger) The kids get a mug of crayons and a coloring sheet that occupied both my 4 and 7 year olds. The kids meals seem on the pricey side at $8.50, but it includes a pizza, drink and a choice of dessert - 2 homemade cookies or a mug of gelato. The desserts were a huge hit with my kids and they were happy as clams to hang out while we finished eating - so it waqs well worth it in our minds. My kids are picky eaters but they gobbled up the cheese pizza - it was far better than the kids' pizzas at Bertuccis that have hardly any cheese on them. You can also just order a kid-sized pizza without the drink or dessert for less. Snazzy interior and open kitchen provides additional entertainment for little ones. There aren't any full booths, but "half" booths with the tables along the wall using the banquette. I liked that you could choose a whole wheat crust for your (or your kids') pizza. We went early on a weeknight and there was almost no one there yet. But I hear it gets busy as it gets later and on the weekends, so go early. They also do take-out. Try it out, we will be going back with our kids. They also have locations in Belmont & Sudbury.
