There is one particular teddy bear made by Gund that is perfect for infants.

It has sewn-on eyes and nose, it's very soft and cuddly, and it's washable. The only problem is that it's difficult to find. The Gund site doesn't even list it.

You can find it at Table and Home, an online gift shop. When you are at their site, use the Search field to find Puddin (for girls) or Bundles (for boys) or Pokey (for either boys or girls).

Puddin has a pink ribbon, Bundles has a blue ribbon, and Pokey has a yellow ribbon. For extra safety, I removed the ribbon, so if you do that, it doesn't matter which version you buy. Note that Pokey is slightly bigger than the others. Also, the nose color is slightly different on Pokey. This is important if buying a replacement bear! Puddin and Bundles are exactly the same, except for the ribbon color.
