You might have seen a Lifetime movie or two about the heartbreaking issue happening around the world: human trafficking. I recently read an article in a women’s magazine that really touched me to want to help combat human trafficking. Unfortunately, many times human trafficking prevents very young children from living a healthy, happy and free life. An organization called The Faith Alliance Against Slavery and Trafficking (FAAST) offers a number of ways you can volunteer and educate yourself.
How You Can Help
One way you can make a difference locally is to see if your state has an Anti-Trafficking Task Force. If not, you can suggest that one be formed. This site also has a list of books and movies about this subject to help educate yourself and others. In addition, you could collect items for care packages for survivors or work with existing service providers to find out what they need. Visit the FAAST website to see practical ways you can help.
