Adventure City, located within Hobby City has remained as one of my daughter's favorite places for a play date. Although it is located within minutes of its larger competitors (ie, Knott's Berry Farm and Disneyland) it remains pretty popular for parents with tiny tots. Most rides are suited for both parents and children and best of all they can learn to ride some rides alone as you look on from the sidelines. The park also has a petting zoo and birthday packages which start at $199 for 10 guests. They also have a grassy area just outside the park which is perfect for a picnic...if you can find space. Saturdays are obviously busiest, so I would recommend going during the week if possible. Also if you arrive after 1pm or so you can usually avoid the "school group crowd". The park isn't very large, so once you are done there you can visit some of the local Hobby/specialty shops around the park.
