Mount Tabor is a park loved by Portland residents.  It is also a great location for an easy day hike with the kids.  It is a very family & pet friendly location.  It is also a location where you can still catch a glimpse of wildlife, despite being so close to the city.  Mt. Tabor is located approximately 4miles from downtown Portland.  It is a park that encompasses nearly 200 acres & there are tons of hiking trails.  One of the best benefits for hiking to the top of the butte is the awesome panoramic views of the Portland city skyline.

I took my son here recently in the jogging stroller I own.  He loved being outdoors and was not fussy at all.  I thought it was a great place to take my child & I will definitely be going there again.
