Although we don’t like to think about it, children are often touched by the loss of someone important, and they need support just as adults do. The Children’s Room in Arlington is a wonderful organization that provides support groups for children, teens and their parents after the death of a parent or sibling. Their goal is to assist children and their families in the grieving process by creating a safe environment where they will receive peer support and assistance from trained volunteers. Their services are free of charge, and families can make voluntary donations. They are the only organization of its kind in Massachusetts, so suggest it to any families you might know who are struggling with a loss.
