Freepeats is just like Freecycle, only for baby and children's gear and clothes. People post gently used baby items and maternity wear they no longer need or want. And people who need these items can arrange to pick them up.  It's free for certain areas (right now, that's Dallas, New York, and Detroit). For areas where Freepeats is more established (Atlanta, Boston, DC, Chicago, Houston, and Philadelphia), you're charged $5 for lifetime use. If you just get one item, you've pretty much made up your $5.  They're hoping to expand to other cities.

They recommend checking recalls.gov before you request an item, just to make sure it hasn't been the subject of a recall (good idea in general).
