Great free or low cost family activities are available at the New England Wildlife Center:

Acoustic Cookie Brunch - Third Sunday of each month at 2 pm.  Swing by and listen to some jazz and acoustic music.  The event is hosted by a group of musicians but is also an open mic.  Cookies and music are free but donations are encouraged.  Confirmed upcoming datres are April 20th and May 18th.

Folk and Blues Jams - Saturdays from 4 - 7 pm.  Hosted my Steve Martin (former member of the band, Orpheus and has played with Janis Joplin, BB King, The Tubes, and Ten Years After).  There are lots of great local folk and blues musicians on hand to jam.  Want to play?  Want to sing? Want to listen?  It's free along with coffee and cookies  It's musicians raising awareness for wildlife.

Wild Things Playgroup - Tuesdays at 1:00 pm.  Need to get you toddler or preschooler out for some exercise and activity?  Come to follow Safari Steve around the center as he explains all the different animals in their hospital.  Kids will get to touch turtles, lizards, snakes, spiders and much more.  Age appropriate craft activities provided.  $5 per child.  Best for 2-6 year olds.

Celebrate your birthday here - any Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday.  Safari Steve will take your birthday group through the center where wildlife are seen and cared for.  Then Steve brings out snakes, lizards, and other creatures for all to see and touch.  This can be followed by a special arts and crafts session, and of course you will want to bring cake, ice cream, pizza or other refreshments.  $10 per party goer, minimum of 10, maximum of 30.  To schedule call Steve Martin at (781) 682-4878  x126.

Become a volunteer any day of the year - Volunteers can participate in all aspects of the center (except wild animal care).  Volunteers answer phones, greet visitors, bake cookies, clean work areas, prepare food, exercise educational animals, and much more.  Call Steve Martin if your interested.
