You may scoff but it's really not disgusting!
There is nothing like the smell and taste of fresh coffee on the fire!
We use a metal camp coffee pot with lid that you can buy in the camping section of Wal-Mart or Target, or your favorite camping store. It sits right on a small grill over the fire pit.
I found a great way to make the coffee, AND no grounds in your cup! First, you'll need to buy brand new knee-high nylons - at least one for each day you'll be camping. Wash them, dry them, and pack them. Please don't use worn nylons (eew).
Making the coffee: Put your coffee grounds in the nylon
Tie a knot at the top
Hang it in the pot with the knot outside and add water
Put the lid on, which helps keep the nylon in place
Place on the fire
When the coffee is ready, toss the nylon filter away!
PS: I probably don't need to mention it, but please don't purchase fishnet stockings :)
