We just got home from our new favorite Mexican restaurant, and one of our new favorite restaurants of any kind.  Ixtapa just opened in Woburn center, but there's also one in Lexington, Dartmouth,Lunenburg, and Newington. I am amazed that it's a chain, because the food is so delicious and fresh and authentically Mexican. It's not Tex Mex at all, and it's not like Border Cafe or On the Border. The rice melts in your mouth, and the tortillas are made right before serving (the bread, not the chips). The sangria tastes exactly like the sagria we had in Spain. The atmosphere was lovely, the service excellent, and even the kids liked it. Oh, yeah, the Woburn one has a mariachi band on Wednesday nights.
