Read this fascinating article at Good Morning America, from ABC news. They tested out doing taxes yourself with TurboTax software, going to HR Block, and going to a private accountant. Surprise! All three got the identical refund (actually, the accountant was one dollar less) and all 3 took under 2 hours, but TurboTax cost about fifty dollars compared to hundreds of dollars for the other two. Interesting!
