Everyone should be aware of the new recommendations by the American Heart Association promoting "hands only" CPR for adults only. The AHA has simplified their instructions to promote greater response from bystanders in assisting those in need of assistance. Therefore their new recommendations are 1) Call 911 and then 2) Push hard and fast in the center of the chest. These recommendations apply only to ADULTS who have suddenly collapsed. The conventional CPR rules still apply to infants/children and those with breathing difficulties. But otherwise the new rules are alot more simplified than trying to remember how many breathes and how many compressions and when to switch. Please read their full recommendations and report to obtain the full story as to why the change has occurred and how to best assist those in need.
