This is a great article that I came across on Msn.com. The article has numerous tips on how to cut down costs on basic things such as food, clothing, child care and more. For example, for cutting down on food, the article suggests buying snacks in bulk, and  then repackage them in plastic bags or growing some of your own food. Be sure to check out the website for more helpful tips.

Kids' Clothes: Don't forget that the best way to save is to get them for free! I do not have relatives with kids the right age or gender to get hand-me-downs, but have found families at our church who are happy to pass on gently used clothes for my girls. Both love it when the big plastic bin comes out of the attic and they get to try on "new" outfits. I rarely have to buy any clothes beyond socks and underwear, and I've totally avoided the hassle of bringing kids to the store, or making returns for items that don't fit!
