Beware of Motherhood Maternity Return Policy
Ages:
Pregnancy
By:Resource_Mom

I thought I would post this cautionary note about Motherhood Maternity's return policy or rather "no return policy". If you are buying a gift for a friend or yourself please be aware that you will NEVER be given your money back - no matter what! An exchange or store credit is your only option. I knew they had an annoying policy because they make you sign your rights away on your receipt with every purchase. However, I recently purchased an item that was mispriced by the store. I immediately questioned the cashier, asking to be given the price on the clothes tag or refunded the difference due to their pricing error. I was told sorry "NO REFUNDS". Needless to say their error was my loss. They offer absolutely no flexibility or options...just sorry our cash register doesn't allow for refunds. What a racket and not too mention poor customer service. Just to note you can purchase items on their site on-line and return via mail....however items purchased in the store cannot be returned via mail. Needless to say I will be warning all my prego friends to steer clear from Motherhood Maternity...especially near the end of their pregnancy....when the last thing they will need is a bunch of store credit from a maternity store!

Another thing worth mentioning is that Macy's maternity section is Motherhood Maternity. Motherhood Maternity in Macy's is more reasonably priced (from my experience) plus you could return within 30 days for a full refund. Some Macy's use Mimi Maternity instead, and they tend to be more expensive.

If anyone else has the problem of being charged wrong like the first person they should report it to the BBB. Probably nothing will happen, but there will be a record on the company for bad business.

That's true. I noticed that at the first purchase I made there too. It is kind of unfriendly to have a "no return" policy as all other stores do have returns. I do not like the clothing displays also, which makes finding anything so hard in the store. Online seems to be the best option then. I did buy a really cute swimming suit there, but aware of NO RETURNS, ever, no matter what. (Not a good place for finding a gift for someone else).
