My husband and I are bonded by our love of our garden. We have noticed the abundance of butterflies this year, which is a wonderful sign! We live near the beach, north of Boston, and my list of plants may be different from the west coast. Please share plants from your garden to add to my list, I would love to know what may be drawing your butterflies to your garden:
Here is a list in my garden:
- Pansies
- Dill (interesting one, huh? They are all over mine!
- Zinnia
- Verbena
- Butterfly bush (not in bloom, but leaves are in full beauty for butterfly stops)
- Thistle (not sure which kind, but it's a cool looking purple pom-pom blossom)
Plants are more than food, they provide sun bathing opportunities for warm their backs for more flying, shelter and little homes for their larvae.
Rembember, the sign of butterflies is a healthy sign about your habitat - happy planting!
