If you or your child takes prescription medicine, save the empty bottle next time you get a refill. Keep one empty, with label still attached, for each prescription. Then, when you travel, put the number of pills you need, plus one or two extra for emergencies, into the appropriate bottle. This lets you take only what you need, without getting the pills mixed up or confused, and prevents possible security issues on planes and at campsites, etc. Also, the bottles won't open during the trip, as those pill sorters often do.
