Want to get your kids into gardening? Here's a quick and easy way to get the ball rolling. A friend of mine introduced me to this Roll and Grow system. It sounds really cheesy and it's one of those things that they sell on TV for $19.95 - but she has one and it really works great! Essentially you get a 10 foot roll of this cottony stuff that is full of seeds. All you need to do is lay it along a garden or a path or cut it to fit into a windowbox or a planter. Then water it and watch it grow. Soon you will have a ton of beautiful wildflowers to enjoy.
Might be fun for people who don't have a ton of time for a garden or who just want something quick and easy. It would work almost anywhere as long as you had a pot or a container to put the pieces into.
This is also a quick and easy way to line a walkway or along the front of your house with pretty flowers. Cut it in half lengthwise and you'll get 20 feet of edging. It might even be a fun spring project for a classroom.
