This is a great dessert to put together with kids, as my five-year-old made it entirely by herself (with me watching her cut the strawberries). It's also very colorful and perfect for the Fourth. Here's what you need:
Strawberries and blueberries (fresh); the amount is optional, but you may want to use about four strawberries and a 1/4 cup of blueberries per serving.
Vanilla low-fat yogurt
Colorful sprinkles
Wash and drain the strawberries and blueberries. Core the tops of the strawberries and slice them lengthwise. Using short glasses, first fill with blueberries, put a few spoonfuls of yogurt over them, then fill with sliced strawberries, and put a few spoonfuls of yogurt over them. Top with sprinkles or any other topping you prefer. You could also substitute whipped cream for the yogurt. Have fun!
