This study (by Dr. Schmidt from Children's Hospital Boston) highlights yet another reason why parents should limit the amount of television exposure for their young children. However, more importantly this study points to the more common "background" television noise that may be effecting the development of those most vulnerable. Many parents (myself included!) dismiss the indirect exposure of television if their child is not actually "watching" TV - but we often forget that the noise is not filtered and thus in some way may still be modifying the developing of our child. Good article to remind us of the noise/media we allow into our homes.
