My son had a bleeding rash from a bad bout of diarrhea when he was about 6 months old.

I was concerned about it getting infected etc. My doctor said use a spray water bottle to clean the bum area or run under water to clean, instead of wiping ~ then use an Antacid like liquid Mylanta (I could only find mint flavored) on a cotton ball and put generously on the rash, let dry and paste on rash cream like Desitin.

This works like a charm! My son is now almost 2 and to this day if he ever gets a bit of an irritated rash I still use this remedy it really works and clears up any rash very quickly by counteracting the acid on the skin that is causing the rash
