I've always thought I couldn't afford to spend more on the healthier brands of cat food, but it turns out that I can save more in the long run because the money I am spending on preventing disease is always less expensive than in treating illness. And this makes sense to me. It's like health insurance as the article says. And even though my cat is only a year old, I think if I want her to be around a long time, I need to change her diet. This article is a great source of information since it tells you what to look for in a healthier food and isn't trying to plug any particular brand. I am definitely reading the ingredients list on my next trip to PetSmart.
