I watch children on the golf course. If they hit a bad shot, the head droops, the shoulders sag and they take a few slow steps towards their golf bag. A golfer once said "it doesn't take long to hit a bad shot". So I have my kids watch the ball until it stops, pick up their clubs and walk briskly to their next shot. It keeps the game moving and makes it more enjoyable for them and those playing in the group behind us. If they see the ball stop and can take another swing at it, it was a good shot. This is a good habit to get into that will carry over to their adult game. It helps them enjoy the game more and takes the drama out of each shot. You'll enjoy the round more, too.
