I am always looking for the most unique gifts and home items and I find a lot of them at Ten Thousand Villages (www.tenthousandvillages.com).  There are brick and mortar stores in many locations but I don't have one near me so I always buy online.  This store offers items personally crafted by artisans all over the world.  When you purchase an item you can actually read about the person who made it, where they are from, how they make their items, and other items they make.  It's a great feeling to get something special and help someone special at the same time!
