I was reading Parenting Magazine recently and I noticed that they had rated the Panasonic HDC-SD9 camcorder as the best camcorder for moms. I was thrilled since I have one of these great toys.

In their article, they mention that the camcorder turns on quickly (which it does) and that it shoots in high definition (it does that too). I really love the fact that it turns on so quickly. My last camcorder seemed to take a minute to get fired up and ready to tape and since I don't think ahead very much I would often miss whatever it was that I really wanted to capture on video. With this digital camcorder I can turn it on at the last second and still get my video.

Another thing that I really love about this model is that is easily allows for edit, which is perfect for me since I take a lot of video, but I don't necessarily want to keep everything I taped. You know how it is when you are waiting for your 3-year old to do that really cute thing that she does...but when you turn on the camera, she won't do it. This this camcorder, you can tape and then easily edit it to keep only what you want. Seriously, if I can do it, it's really easy.

It has a whole lot of other features and since I'm not a technical kind of girl, I don't really understand them all. I do know that it takes extremely high-quality video, even if you aren't a pro (which I'm not!) and it's extremely lightweight and easy to just throw in your purse or bag. The one thing thatI don't like is that the battery doesn't last as long as I'd like it to. I usually get about an hour from a full battery. I wish it lasted at least two, but I did purchase an extra battery and it seems to be working okay.

Seriously, the best news about this digital camcorder is that it's come down in price by almost 50%. That's not real good news for me since I paid almost $800 for mine. I noticed today that you can pick one up for about $450. I guess there are some good things about a poor economy!
