When we no longer needed the baby changing table/bureau combo that we used for the nursery, we didn't want to deal with trying to sell it so instead I made it into a mudroom catchall.  It's just a solid oak color so it wasn't too babyish at all.  Each drawer was lined with rubber cabinet liners to help protect the inside of the drawers.  With a label maker, we labeled each drawer to indicate whose shoes were in there, the hats and mittens drawer etc.  Labeling helps the kids know where to find their items and hooks for coats were added to the side of the bureau.  The changing table section acts as a regular shelf for any catch all items.  Voila, another use for years to come and we saved money on buying something for our mudroom too.
