If your child or grandchild comes home from school and has been caught red handed in a lie, or exaggeration.

One of the ways I have found to change that behavior is to write a story that is similar to their negative behavior, the character names are different. If you write an ending that shows what happens to this little girl or boy when that behavior happens, i.e. can't return home, they can not find there way back home , etc.

The child without realizing that the story is about their behavior and the consequences that could happen. At times I even let them fill in the ending. I know this takes time but they are so happy you are writing a story just for them. They even ask to have it read over and over again. The positive reinforcement of doing the right thing is right there in front of them.

This does take time, but, a much better way to start changing a negative behavior
